But Manually creating thumbnails takes a LONG time. If you can make this PHP based with automatic thumbnail generation and caching, I will love you forever!
I have yet to find a good thumbnail creation program that preserves directory structure so it takes a log time to create them.

I am in total agreement. I have been looking for something like this for a long time. Fast to finish setup, good slideshow, great look, able to make quick mods. Just a great system!
